Google My Business is such an incredible tool for being found online. Its free and offers excellent information to those searching for the services you offer in your local area. Google catalogs your business, its address, the services you offer, and information about your business. They show this information when they think its relevant to a users search, which happens a lot.

Google My Business is clearly a critical channel, as the average business is found in 1,009 Search results per month. Its no wonder that most businesses have a Google My Business profile. Unfortunately for both the business and the customer searching for their services, most Google My Business profiles are not filled out properly. Business owners tend to underestimate this powerful tool, only adding partial information and leaving it to never be touched again.

Don’t underestimate this tool simply because it’s offered for free. Google My Business is so much more than just a directory. Its a tool that can drive incredible revenue if its used properly. Google wants to see you using it, and updating it frequently. Lets go through a few things you can do to make your profile more attractive to customers, show up higher in rankings, and be found by more potential clients!

Here are some tips to help grow your Google My Business profile.

  1. Reviews, reviews, reviews! Review ratings are the biggest factor in clicks on a search page. The more reviews you have, the more legit your company looks, and the more a potential customer feels they can trust you with their business. Having trouble getting reviews? Let us know! We at Local Point Advertising can automate this for you.
  2. Fill out as much information as possible on your profile. This will increase the searches your company will show up on, therefore increasing the number of potential customers you’re being seen by.
  3. Pictures! Add photos of your office, your products, happy customers, etc. to your profile. Not only does it add to the legitimacy of your page and help your profile show up higher in results, but it also helps a potential customer know what to expect when they come to your office or choose to work with you.
  4. Post! Many business owners don’t know that Google My Business allows you to post messages. Posting is incredibly important, because it shows Google that you are active and providing up to date value to users.

If you currently are not doing all four of these things, then you are missing out on potential clients.
