Google My Business 101

What is Google My Business?

If Google was a social media platform, Google My Business would be your profile page. It is also known as your Google Maps listing. It is usually shown when a customer searches for something in a local area. For example, if a customer searches “Roofers near me” one of the top results will be Google My Business profiles for Roofers in their area.

Why is it so important?

This is important because these results show up near the top of the page, before any top SEO websites. The profiles are concise and easy to look through for a customer, so they can easily deduct which company they’d like to work with. Local companies show up in, on average, 1009 searches per month, 84% of which are discovery searches.

What it doesn't do:

An important thing that Google My Business DOESN’T do is give you any data on which customers came from them, and how many of those customers set appointments with you. This is critical information! You need to know exactly how much revenue is coming from your various marketing channels.

Enter Local Point Advertising

Local Point Advertising is here to help. Knowing where your customers are coming from and how many of them are converting into appointments is crucial information that you need to know! This will help you decide where to spend your effort and marketing dollars.

We will get your business set up properly on the platform and optimize your page. In addition, we offer a custom software solution to help you with reputation management (among many other things), which is absolutely critical when it comes to bringing in new clients. The more positive reviews a business has, the higher the chance of being clicked by a customer. We will also put a tracked phone number on your account, listen to each recorded phone call, and send you a monthly report, so you can see exact data of how well your Google My Business is doing and how many appointments you’re receiving from it.
